Sarah was born and raised in Connecticut. She grew up listening to her parents sing in the choir of their tightly knit Korean immigrant church and played keys in the youth group praise band. She graduated with a B.M. in Piano Performance at The Juilliard School and Ed. M. in Music Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. She met her husband, Mike, at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City where together they served on the launch team for the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church plant. Sarah served as Emmanuel’s Music Coordinator for nine years.
In 2013, after moving cross country, Sarah knew they found their church family at Redeemer Sugar Land by the gospel-centered teaching, caring community, and worshipful music. She has since served in Redeemer’s music ministry singing and playing keys, coordinating special music offertory, and bringing music recitals to nursing homes. She leads a Redeemer praise band with her husband on guitar and their three musical children, Daniel (cello), Sophia (keys), and Carissa (fiddle). “We become what we worship,” and Sarah’s chief joy is to engage the congregation in worshipful music for an audience of One.
