INTERNSHIP

Program Overview

At Redeemer Presbyterian Church, we are committed to making disciples and developing leaders. Our internship program provides strategic opportunities for leaders to grow in their theological knowledge, develop their gifts, and discern their vocational trajectory.

Interns will have the opportunity to serve at Redeemer and work in strategic areas of focus. Our pastoral internship program prepares interns for pastoral ministry. Our ministry internship program prepares interns for a variety of ministry and service opportunities in the church. Internships are designed around the intern’s gifts and the church’s needs. Each intern will be assigned to an overall ministry area, but the internship structure allows for cross-training in additional ministry functions through job shadowing and projects that bridge into other areas. You will work closely with and be mentored by members of the pastoral and staff teams

Past Interns

I was challenged by Redeemer's dynamic desire to be a community shaped by the gospel in teaching, service and discipleship for deep impact in Sugar Land. It was helpful to have the leadership and guidance of the pastors in every step of the way. -Beena Thomas, Ministry Intern, Fuller Theological Seminary

This internship has been meaningful to me because I am blessed with the opportunity to teach others while being taught by those I’m teaching. God has blessed me with this opportunity to pray for, build up, and love on the kids which I look to as my own. Something that's been a dream of mine has been brought to the light. I’m super grateful for this opportunity. -Gabriel Byrd, Ministry Intern, Houston Baptist University

The Redeemer ministry internship did something that I had never expected: it kept me on the ground. As we tend to build our ivory towers in college and seminary, working with the Sunday operations team kept me in the trenches, and allowed me to live out my faith, not just talk about it. -Kyle Decker, Ministry Intern, Reformed Theological Seminary

My internship at Redeemer has been an incredibly enriching experience. The leaders go out of their way to impart the knowledge and skills needed for an effective ministry, while the mission and vision of the church is directly tied to the current cultural reality. This translates into being embedded in the life and rhythm of the team, receiving exposure to Redeemer's staff and church environment, and the culture of the neighborhood. -Andres Zelaya, Pastoral Intern, Fuller Theological Seminary
